How Green Remedy and CBD Changed Eli’s Life
WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - There are 3.4 million people in the United States that suffer from epilepsy. And 33 percent live with uncontrollable seizures, with no available treatment that they know works for them.
For the first five years of Eli Wooten's life he was a part of this statistic - having 100 seizures a day, not sure how much longer he would live.
"He was having four types of seizures. Three out of the four he stops breathing," said Wooten.
But not anymore. Eli was introduced to a hemp-extracted CBD oil from Green Remedy.
Green Remedy first heard about Eli and his condition through a local newspaper and that is when Chad Wilson sought them out.
"After three days of hunting, I found a picture of this little red-headed boy on Facebook. And once I told her I grew hemp she immediately started crying. I told her I was going to send her some product and I have ever since," said Wilson.
From this act grew a movement, not only to help other kids in the region with similar problems, but also to others wanting to help.
"People coming together wanting to do Eli Hope's chapters in Missouri and in other states," said Wilson.
Eli responded to the CBD oil in an amazing way. His parents were able to hear their son's voice for the first time in three years.
"I wanted to start a foundation to help families like mine. But to see this come together today is just unbelievable, it's just been surreal," said Rita Wooten, Eli's mother.
This was an opportunity for a small Kentucky company to make a difference.
"A lot of it, testimony of changing lives. Eli is a great case because it's a child that was looking at no life to a complete transformation," said Tim Lyvers, COO of Green Remedy.
While this type of treatment may not be widely accepted, Mark Wilson urges unbelievers to just look in front of them.
"It's not our place to change your heart and your mind about the cannabis-hemp plant. But it is our job to give you the real, true accurate information. Eli Wooten is that truth."
And since then Eli's future is looking a lot brighter. Using 'Eli's Reserve has allowed him to live a live without constant interruption.
'You may remember him when he scored the winning touchdown in late August at Mountain View Elementary's football game. The proof is in the pudding - Eli is living his life to the fullest.
Proceeds from 'Eli's Reserve' will go toward the Eli's Hope foundation and Green Remedy foundation to help kids just like him.
